Seasonal suspension

Seasonal Service Suspension Policy

For seasonal subscribers, we offer the flexibility to suspend your internet service during the winter months under the following conditions:

• One Suspension per Year:
  You may request a service suspension once per calendar year. The suspension must begin at the start of a billing cycle, and your request must be submitted to support@redsandsinternet.ca before your next invoice is generated.
• Minimum Suspension Period:
  The suspension must last for at least 2 full billing cycles.
• Eligibility:
  To be eligible, your Basic or Ultimate Plan must have been active for a minimum of 4 full continuous billing cycles prior to the suspension request.
  Please note: The Lite Plan is not eligible for seasonal suspension.
• Seasonal Suspension Fee:
  Starting in 2025, the seasonal suspension fee is $14.99/month.
  We’ve worked hard to keep our regular monthly service rates unchanged. However, after 9 years of operation and rising day-to-day costs, we’ve had to adjust the seasonal suspension fee to ensure continued service quality. Most subscribers choose to make a lump-sum payment in the fall to cover all or part of the winter months until service resumes in the spring or summer.
• Partial Months:
  To keep things simple, partial billing cycles are not permitted.
  For example, if service is required for 4.5 months, you will be billed for 5 full continuous billing cycles before the discounted suspension rate takes effect.
• Important Reminders:
  To ensure a smooth transition from regular service, we suggest noting your invoice creation date (shown on your invoice) and sending your suspension request before that date and before the invoice is automatically generated. In the spring, when you’re ready to resume service, simply email us at support@redsandsinternet.ca with your preferred reactivation date.

Standard install $125

A standard installation typically takes approximately 2 hours to complete, which includes installing an external antenna and running up to 25 feet of outdoor Ethernet cable. Additionally, we’re more than happy to assist you in connecting your wireless devices if needed.

Please note that the price may vary depending on the complexity of the installation or any additional materials required to complete the install. Any additional work beyond the standard 2 hours will be billed at a rate of $95 per hour.

Wifi Signal Factors

Ensuring a strong WiFi signal throughout your home can be challenging due to various factors that can affect performance. While we can provide a basic WiFi router, the size of your home and the number of connected devices may require a more advanced solution for optimal coverage. We recommend considering a more robust router or mesh network system to ensure reliable WiFi in every room. We are more than happy to recommend the best options to suit your needs.
